The Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) Kauno klinikos is the largest healthcare institution in Lithuania. Established in 1940, the Hospital has grown into one of the most prominent hospitals in the country. The hospital of Kauno klinikos is dedicated to providing the highest quality healthcare to patients from all over the country and abroad.
Kauno klinikos employs more than 2100 physicians and 2300 nurses, who provide care according to the standards of evidence-based clinical practice.
The hospital has 39 departments devoted to all medical and surgical specialties, including cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, and organ transplant surgery. In recent years, the annual number of outpatient consultations increased significantly, exceeding 1.2 million visits and 94 thousand hospital admissions.

Emergency Department in Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kauno klinikos provides medical care for patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week and exceeds patient volume 84.000 visits per year. It is the first level Trauma Center in the City and County of Kaunas with 500 severe (ISS>15) trauma activations per year. In addition, the Emergency Department is the provider of trauma care for the central western part of Lithuania and thus has a service area of 1.5 million people. The Emergency Department is prepared and equipped to provide comprehensive and efficient emergency care to patients with critical and acute illnesses and injuries. Services for patients with stroke, femur fractures, MI are provided in Fast Track section of our Emergency Department.
